Haus Rules

HAUS RULES

All staff, players, spectators, customers, and visitors are expected to conduct themselves in a way that ensures all others present can enjoy themselves as much as possible. Any conduct that makes it difficult for others to participate, observe, shop, or visit Java Game Haus or one of our events is not allowed.

Java Game Haus reserves the right to ask anyone to leave at any time. We also reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to prohibit you from access to our property should you violate any portion of our Haus Rules.

BANNED AND BANNABLE BEHAVIORS AND ITEMS

Foul or Abusive Language – Use of any discriminatory, derogatory, abusive, or foul language may result in expulsion from any event without prizes at the sole discretion of staff.

Bullying – Bullying behaviors including hazing activities may result in expulsion from the store.

Theft – Stealing from the store, customers, participants, or staff will result in a ban from the store, as well as a report filed with local law enforcement and other relevant sanctioning bodies (Wizards of the Coast, Fantasy Flight Games, etc).

Improper Attire – Customers or participants who wear obscene, demeaning, disruptive, or overly revealing attire as determined by the sole discretion of staff may be asked to leave the store until they are able to change.

Personal Hygiene – If it becomes apparent from appearance or odor that a patron is causing a hygienic disturbance, they may be asked to leave at sole discretion of staff.

Outside Food or Drinks – No beverages or food items purchased outside of Java Game Haus are permitted in the store at any time.

Drugs – Anyone selling, using, carrying, or under the influence of illegal substances at Java Game Haus, including our parking lot, may receive a lifetime ban on the first offence without any prior warning.

Weapons – Java Game Haus prohibits the carrying of concealed weapons by all persons other than law enforcement officers. Patrons found breaking this policy may be asked to leave.

Competing Business – Although we encourage trading amongst our players and customers, all buying and selling for any form of currency must be conducted through Java Game Haus. Offenders may be asked to leave.

Violence – Violence or threats of violence will not be tolerated.

EXPECTED BEHAVIORS

Children 12 or under must be accompanied by an adult or guardian while in the store at all times. This includes tournaments and long-running events.

Games cease to be fun when a player or players break the rules to achieve victory. A player should prefer to lose a game than to win by cheating.

Taking advantage of inexperienced players or others will not be tolerated. Similarly, colluding with other players to fix a game will not be permitted.

All decisions made by an appointed judge for an event are final, and employees have no influence on the decisions of the judge.

Players of any game should strive to act in good faith of the game while playing.

Customers are expected to inform the staff immediately if they observe an illegal activity in our store or during our events.

Players, spectators, customers, staff, and property should be treated with the same respect that players would expect for themselves and their property.

Winning or losing with grace is vital to the enjoyment of any game. The desire to continue playing a game can be soured by a player that berates or disrespects their opponent after winning or losing a match. Demeaning or disrespectful comments or actions before, during, or after a game indicate poor sportsmanship and will not be tolerated.

At the end of the day we want all participants, spectators, customers, and staff to have had a fun and enjoyable experience. Thank you for making this possible by following our Haus Rules.
